On the evening of July 15, local time, ACEG Algerian Branch`s Ain Defla Spa Hotel Project has successfully completed the first bored cast-in-place retaining pile, which marks the first for ACEG Algerian Branch to construct such a mega bored pile in Algeria in the past 17 years, with a diameter of 1.2 meters and depth 25 meters, which is also rarely seen in Algeria

The site of Ain Defla Spa Hotel Project is located at a hillside with complex geological conditions and higher underground water level; the earth excavation would pose big impact on the adjacent buildings. Early in the process of the excavation, there were signs of landslides and potential safety hazards that would probably cause to suspend the implementation of the Project. ACEG Algerian Branch decided after consulting relevant experts to use bored piles row retaining structure with diameter of 1.2 meters and depth of 25 meters to prevent landslides.

Whether the first cast-in-place pile could be succeeded would decide whether to proceed with the construction of the Project. After intense preparation and a series of operations, such as positioning drilling and hoisting of steel cage, the concrete pouring of the first pile was completed successfully in about 10 hours at 22:00 on the evening of 15th.

In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the work, Mr. Wan Qing, the General Manager of ACEG Algerian Branch, was at the construction site inspecting the piling progress and put forward requirements on the site materials, equipments and logistics support works. He asked the Project to accelerate the construction progresses to ensure the completion of the bored piles on time with safety and quality.
